Hamilton is leaving Mercedes. Alonso could replace him. It'll be interesting to see what he does in 2025. He has the talent to succeed in the team. If given the right car, Alonso could win a third world championship. Yet, due to his age, questions will always be surrounding his longevity in the sport.

Alonso spoke about how long he has left in F1 in a recent meeting with the media.

"First, I need to decide if I want to keep racing. I will need to decide that in a few races," said Alonso.

"I feel great now, but it's a demanding calendar. In 2026, different regulations may be tempting or not. I will wait for a few races to decide."

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff said the driver options for 2025 are exciting.

"Great people will be available for 2025," said Wolff.

Do we want to rely on experience and try something new? Or do we want to focus on youth and take the risk of having a rookie? Then, we'll have to look at this from a medium- to long-term view.
