Last Match
As previously stated, it was a entertaining clash where a load of tries were scored. On a dry afternoon, the conditions provided a perfect stage for rugby. Both teams are preparing for their Division A campaigns. Tries came in abundance throughout the contest. Ireland, Whyte, Williams, Goodridge, Hearing, and Mills all crossed the line. The squad’s attacking prowess was on full display. The two opening tries were sensational; the ball movement was special, spreading the ball and crossing the tryline. It was a contest to build real momentum; it will be fascinating to see how they match up against Gower College.
Thoughts on Gwent clash
A fantastic result, but also a well-deserved one. Head coach Craig Warlow talks about the result.
I was super pleased with the boys' effort, please, because they'd worked over several weeks during preseason. You could visibly see the confidence grow as the game progressed, just clicking into some shapes, some pattern and momentum, and they were starting to make decisions on the hoof, which is what we're trying to get them to do, and to go quite a few scores clear. And then, you know, uh, compete with a really good Gwen side. It was a positive experience for the boys.
Everyone's got their regional players back, so that'll be a different kind of test against Gower College.
They will look to back up the result with a strong result against Gower. Last season, they were very competitive, and their matchups were exciting to watch.
Gower College
Two teams that know each other very well. Having met each other in the Division B final. On that day, Bridgend secured a 19-13 victory that would, of course, earn them promotion. Over the course of the season, Gower College went unbeaten and were very consistent, with their only defeat coming at the hands of Bridgend.
It is set for a great clash at Brewery Field as both teams prepare for their league campaigns.
