The new NFL season is fast approaching, as the teams will be back on the field in September. Of course, with every new season, there is a sense of anticipation as many teams will be eyeing up a Super Bowl run. The Kansas City Chiefs will be looking to win the Lombardi Trophy for the third time. However, there will be franchises who feel like they have a real chance to go. It will be exciting to see what these teams look like next season, and there are some excellent betting options for potential Super Bowl winners.

Best Bet: Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs come into the season as joint-favourites to lift the Lombardi Trophy alongside the San Francisco 49ers at 6/1. Over the past two seasons, Kansas City hasn't had the best roster on paper by far. However, when you have Patrick Mahomes behind the centre, you always have a good chance of getting good results. The defending champions had to overcome a lot of adversity in the season and showed their heart to get the championship ring. They have improved their roster in the off-season by adding Marquise Brown.

Along with Brown, the Chiefs have many more excellent receiving threats. Travis Kelce is still the best tight end in the league and is Mahomes' go-to guy in big moments. Rashee Rice also stepped up in a big way as a rookie, making a load of big-time catches throughout the season. The Chiefs also have a solid running game, which results in quite a balanced offence. Of course, a big reason for their success over the years has been their defence. Chris Jones, a defensive tackle, has been a top player for the franchise and will play a significant role this year. Finally, you can't mention Kansas City without Andy Reid, the mastermind behind the team's success.

Value Bet: Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles will be heading into the 2024 season with much to prove. The franchise had a complete collapse last year and looked miles away from the 2022 team that made it to the Super Bowl. Talent is abundant on both sides of the ball, meaning Philadelphia has nothing to hide behind. Quarterback Jalen Hurts has developed into one of the better quarterbacks in the league today. Furthermore, he has a tremendous receiving group around him, with AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith being tremendous playmakers when given opportunities. Saquon Barkley will be heading over from the New York Giants as he looks to make a splash in the city of Brotherly Love. Of course, the team will lose a very crucial player as centre Jason Kelce decided to hang up his cleats for good in the off-season. The Eagles entered 2024 with 12/1 odds to go all the way. If the franchise lives up to its potential, there is no reason why this bet wouldn't hit.

Longshot Bet: Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals had a disappointing 2023 season as they finished with a record of 9-8, finishing last in the AFC North division. A big reason for a disappointing year was that quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a nasty injury to his wrist, derailing the Bengals' season completely. They have shown in 2022 as a franchise that they have what it takes to make it to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, on that day, they fell short to a Matthew Stafford-led LA Rams in a fantastic match-up in SoFi Stadium. The Bengals have three sensational aerial threats: Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd. They have a good enough defence to make a playoff run.

Furthermore, if they play at their best, there is no reason they can't get back to the Super Bowl and potentially lift the Lombardi. When on form, Joe Burrow is one of the best in the league and can lead a team all the way. If you like a long shot, this could be the best for you, as Cincinnati comes into the season with 14/1 odds.

It will be fascinating to see how this season plays out with many teams capable of capturing a Super Bowl win.
