The Gallagher Premiership is fast approaching as one of the best competitions in club rugby, which takes a little over a month to kick off. The league is stacked with great teams and talented players. Going into the season, it is almost impossible to predict who will come away with the title. However, some teams stand out, and the betting options are exciting.

Best Bet: Northampton Saints

The Northampton Saints will be looking for back-to-back titles this year and are the odds-on favourite. Northampton entered the competition at 5/2, and it is hard to argue against them. Their squad is filled with talent, and they are incredibly well-coached. Not only are they skilful, but they also have a lot of heart and a strong fighting spirit. The young team performed tremendously well in the final last year against Bath, echoing their performance throughout the season. They have many great players, such as Finn Smith, Tommy Freeman, and Alex Mitchell. However, they will miss their captain, Courtney Lawes, who left the team last year to join the French league. If Northampton can play as well as they did last year, they will be a tough team to beat and will fancy their chances to go all the way again.

Value Bet: Bath

Bath may have the most talented squad of all the clubs in the league. The side came so close to securing the title last year but were just outplayed by Northampton. They entertained fans at the Rec throughout the season, playing a very expansive style of rugby. The team is packed with an abundance of international players. Their star player is Finn Russell, a magician with a rugby ball, and it will be interesting to see how he helps the team next year. Bath's backline is potent and can score tries from anywhere on the field.

Along with Russell, you have players like Ollie Lawrence, Cameron Redpath, and Ben Spencer. There has been very little change in the team compared to last year, with their most significant loss being Matt Gallagher, who will be joining Benetton this year. Bath is a great team, and with 4/1 odds, you could get a decent return if they win the league.

Longshot Bet: Exeter Chiefs

Exeter is coming off an impressive season where they achieved some significant results. The team is still relatively young but managed to compete at the highest level last season. They will look to do the same again in September, as Exeter will feel they can give the Gallagher Premiership a good go. The team has a lot of creative young internationals who have the potential to be unique. For example, captain Dafydd Jenkins has put in some spectacular performances for the club over the years. Exeter is a great team and can't be counted out. The young side comes into the competition with 12/1 odds. For those who like a long shot, this is the bet for you.

It looks like a great season of rugby action is ahead of us.
