England has had an up-and-down Six Nations campaign in 2024. They have won two games out of three and will welcome Ireland to Twickenham on Saturday. Some good news for the red roses is that fly-half Marcus Smith is back from injury. It will be great for England to have a player of his quality available for selection.

Smith is a fantastic player and will be an England mainstay for many years. He is an exciting player on the field because he can produce magical moments. He was going to start for England throughout the Six Nations before he got injured. The English side needs a spark in attack when they play. Smith can create something out of nothing, which would be an excellent asset for England.

England will enjoy having Smith back, which is not surprising. Kevin Sinfield has talked about how Smith's presence has lifted the team.

"To have Marcus available is a big boost for everybody," Sinfield said. "We did not have him throughout the Six Nations." "Not only with what he brings on the field but also off the field. He has a bit about him, some bounce about him, a big smile and loves being out on the training field. He has had a significant impact this week. He comes in and is himself all the time. We missed him in the first few weeks, so to have him back available has been good.

"I'd say [he's brought] a similar sort of presence [since the World Cup]. Dynamics change with Owen not being available. Some older, experienced leaders drop off for whatever reason. You expect some younger guys to step up. And Marcus has been excellent anyway.

"I've loved working with him, and he's an incredible talent. He can play the boy. He brought bounce to the World Cup and our time together last year. He's certainly brought it.

The last two weeks are also off the field because he's a good guy to be around."
