Esteban Ocon Speaks On Lack Of Running At The Las Vegas GP

The Las Vegas Grand Prix hasn’t got off to a great start. After, an entertaining kick-off show got everyone excited for the race. The drivers haven’t had much running, as a red flag marked the end of the first practice. It was due to a loose utility hole cover that Carlos Sainz had an incident with. Alpine driver Esteban Ocon has spoken on the lack of running and his chances for the race.

The Lack Of Running

There was a load of hype around a race in Las Vegas. Formula One has gone all in on marketing. The promotion for the Grand Prix has been unreal, and F1 is trying to make it a big race. Yet, there was a lot of concern that the track wasn’t ready for F1. Ocon had a similar problem to Sainz, where his car had damage. Ocon spoke on the lack of running with the media.

“It’s been good to get some running finally,” Ocon told the media. “Feeling sorry for all the fans out there, though. We will catch up on the show and have a good show for them tomorrow because they haven’t seen a car run today. That is not acceptable.”

Alpine didn’t look great in the practice session. Ocon talked about his chances this weekend.

“We are experimenting with things, but it’s important to be racing, so we will see what we can do,” Ocon told the media. “There’s work to do for tomorrow. The track is interesting. It’s getting faster and faster, so tomorrow will be an interesting day.”

“On our side, carrying the tyres forward from FP1 has been good. I was lucky the session got delayed because my car had damage, so it was a crazy day of emotions. Luckily, I’m also okay because it could have come through the vehicle, the object.

“I got a new car, a fresh car, which wasn’t part of the plan. We must find the best compromise ahead of tomorrow. We got what we needed on that side, and we can get into Q3 tomorrow.”
