He lost his belt by disqualification for throwing an illegal knee. Yet, after losing the rematch to Aljamain Sterling, Yan's form started to go downhill. Sean O'Malley and Dvalishvili, both fantastic competitors, beat the former champion. The 30-year-old will look to change his team as he looks to get back into the title picture. In an interview with Xtra MMA, Yan discusses what changes need to happen.

"I know I should (make changes). I should try to modernise my training camp in some way, my coaching team. Change something, install something new, correct some things," Yan said. "I'll try to make that happen. So, you can see some changes in the future.

"It's people. It's sparring partners and coaching staff. The team is the most important thing. The new coaching team needs to form," Yan continued. "The team I'll be preparing with will be with me at the arena."
