There were many takeaways from last year's playoffs. New York was an impressive team the previous season and overachieved. Head coach Brian Daboll won the Coach of the Year award in 2023. Too this, Daniel Jones was playing the best football of his career. Yet, they have only been victorious against the Washington Commanders and Arizona Cardinals this year. The Giants have recently lost two heavy defeats to the Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas Cowboys. It has led to many people throwing around the term 'tanking'. Daboll denied those rumours when talking about recent results.

"We're in a competitive business. Try to compete in everything you do."

There are loads of good quarterback prospects in the 2024 draft. Players like Caleb Williams and Drake Maye come to mind. It is always hard for players on struggling teams because of pressure from the media. Each athlete goes into every game, looking to achieve victory. Wide receiver Darius Slayton talks about the idea of tanking.

"It's natural for fans and people to say [tank] because the draft and everything has so much hype these days." wide receiver Darius Slayton said. "For fans and casual watchers, it's easy to say this season is not going the way we want. [It's like] tank Jesus [is] coming in the draft next year, we'll get him, and he'll change our hopes and dreams.

"That is the fun thing to do, I guess, for fans."
