Some people consider Cousins underrated, despite him being a quality player. In the 2012 draft, Washington drafted him in the fourth round. Yet, he is most well-known for his time with the Vikings. He has made the playoffs with the Vikings and has enjoyed some great years. Cousins is a great quarterback. He has passed for over 39,470 yards and 270 touchdowns during his career. He would be a massive get for any team needing a quarterback. He could produce results with a decent roster. His biggest question now is what he will look like after an injury. A team could get him on a cheaper deal. Cousins wants to prove himself wherever he goes, and Denver is a good fit.
The Denver Broncos Right Now
It's been a rough couple of years for the Broncos. The Russell Wilson experiment didn't play out as people may have hoped. They have the talent on both sides of the ball to make an impact in the AFC. They had a terrible 2022 season with Nathanael Hackett. This led to Sean Payton coming in. The team was improving through the 2023 season and missed out on the playoffs by a narrow margin. They have a solid roster and in particular great receivers. Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and Marvin Mims Jr are significant aerial threats. The Broncos' roster has a lot of talent. But, they need a quarterback who can produce at a decent level.
Why They Are Perfect For Each Other
A significant need for the Broncos in the off-season is that quarterback. It doesn't look like Wilson will return to the Mile High Stadium in 2024. Furthermore, the team must pick higher in the draft to get a top quarterback prospect. Yet, their pick is outside the top ten. We have seen the benefits of sitting a rookie. The Green Bay Packers' Jordan Love is a prime example of this. If Denver drafts the quarterback, who better to learn from than Cousins? The 35-year-old can allow you to compete now and mentor a younger player. Why wouldn't they go for him if the Broncos can get him on a deal that suits them?
Cousins is a great player with a fantastic legacy in the league. It'll be interesting to see what he does next.
