There are many questions about Welsh rugby and how the team will perform in the coming years. Wales had to deal with many key players leaving. They retired from international rugby after the 2023 World Cup. The side is going through a transitional period. Some promising players are in the squad, and even more are playing for the regions. One of those players is Cardiff centre Ben Thomas, who has been impressive as of late. Furthermore, he has garnered support from Jonathan Davies and Tom Shanklin.

Thomas has been a critical Cardiff player this season and a shining light at the Arms Park. The 25-year-old is a project from the Cardiff Academy and graduated in 2019. Thomas made his Pro14, now the URC debut, in 2019 and has been a good player for Cardiff ever since. He represented Wales at the under-20s level and has two senior international caps. Wales currently wants depth at centre. Thomas has shown that he can mix with the very best of his day. In his column for Wales Online, Davis praised the center, and you have to admit that the praise is justified.

Former Wales centre Shanklin also praised Thomas on Scrum V.

"He's had a perfect season," said Shanklin on ScrumV. "The way modern-day rugby is played 12 is so important to you, and he's the best attacking 12 we've got in Wales.

"It was a very well-worked try, which came from a drop-out from Glasgow. Cardiff goes through many phases. Max Clarke passes to Thomas Young. He links well with Ben Thomas, who scores."
