Monza Review

Max Verstappen strengths his hold on the championship with a victory at the Italian grand prix, Spoiling rival Ferrari’s home race.

The 24-year-old Dutchman took a dominated victory, starting from seventh on the grid to then take the win.

The end of the race had a somewhat controversial ending to with the race being unable to end under normal racing conditions. This would bring up bad memories for Lewis Hamilton fans with everything that happen last year.

Drivers like Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton had standout performances. When starting from the back of the grid to strong points positions. With Sainz finishing in fourth and Hamilton in fifth.

Another key point of the race was the debut of the 2019 Formula Two champion Nyck de Vries. De Veris stepped in for the ill Alexander Albon. Which then result in points debut for Mercedes reserve driver. This shows that the sport of Formula One has been sleeping on an incredible talent which has been under its nose for many years. After De Vries’ performance in the Italian grand prix, many drivers have spoken up saying how much the former Formula E champion deserves a chance in the pinnacular of Motorsport. Former world champions such as Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton have spoken on how great of character De Vries is in a team. However what George Russell said stood out, Russell said "There's no doubt he'd deserve a place in Formula 1,". This shows that many drivers belief that he should have a seat next season. The obvious option is for him to take a seat in the Williams team. This because that is the team he stood in for at Monza and he has been link with the team in the.

So, what does this mean for the championship race. The first thing to point out is that Verstappen maintains his healthy lead with stretching his lead out to 116 points. This makes it possible for Verstappen to win his second championship next race in Singapore. If Verstappen wins and other drivers results goes his way, he could be leaving with the champion. This just shows how dominant of a season he has had.

It was a solid race for Ferrari with Leclerc finishing second and Sainz coming from the back of the grid to fourth. Of course, they would want to finish first but their fight is not really with Red Bull anymore, it is with Mercedes. This means it could be seen as a positive result because the gain more points than Mercedes

Looking forward to Singapore it is a must win, for Ferrari to stop Verstappen from winning the championship.
